Some 'Must Visit' Nearby Places (missed in my earlier articles) if you are in Geneva, Switzerland :)

Sitting on a triangular islet surrounded by the Canal du Thiou, the 12th-century Palais de l’Isle has been a lordly residence, courthouse, mint and prison over the centuries. Today Annecy’s most visible landmark hosts exhibits on local architecture and history. It is also featured at the official logo of Annecy and their official tourism website. It is in France.

The bear pit enclosure houses four brown bears: Byörk and Finn and their two cubs, born in December 2009, Ursina and Berna. I caught one of them basking in the sun.

The Broken Chair - "Broken Chair is a monumental sculpture in wood by the Swiss artist Daniel Berset, constructed by the carpenter Louis Genève. It is constructed of 5.5 tons of wood and is 12 metres (39 feet) high.
It depicts a giant chair with a broken leg and stands across the street from the Palace of Nations, in Geneva. It symbolises opposition to land mines and cluster bombs, and acts as a reminder to politicians and others visiting Geneva." ~ Google
Rive -  The perfect place for the shoppers in Geneva :)
The famous flower clock in Geneva is a symbol that the city is famous for Swiss watches. The clock is made out of flowers and it is simply amazing. 
Jet d’Eau which means water jet in English is one of the most famous landmarks of the city. It is one of the largest fountains in the world located in the scenic Geneva Lake which is lit up at night. It is surrounded by the city of Geneva. It is also featured at the official logo of Geneva and their official tourism website.

 The Botanical Garden: 

One of the most beautiful botanical gardens in Switzerland which is located just above the World Trade Organization headquarters in Geneva. The garden has many plants which ranging from commercially used plants to medicinal and ornamental plants. There are also many exotic animals mostly birds.

In Buddhism, kora (which means circumambulation) is the act of walking around the sacred site in a clockwise direction. Buddhist pilgrims do kora of the religious temples, sites, objects, etc to gain spiritual merits; cleanse sins of past and present lives and purify negative karma; and to attain spiritual and mental enlightenment. Pilgrims usually recite mantras and say prayers as they do the rounds. Bhutan being a Buddhist country, Kora is very prevalent and no temples are usually seen without pilgrims doing koras. However, the trend of 108-kora is quite a new thing in Bhutan, started or at least grew its popularity only a few years ago. Trip to Iseltwald, Lake Brienz & Lake Thun, Interlaken and Sigriswil 🇨🇭

Let me start by stating, Switzerland in Autumn/Fall is a Paradise, perfect weather, colorful leaves/forest, a touch of snow on the mountains, autumn flowers (especially the wild ones), blue sky turning into pink after sun set – truly truly a Nature Heaven. Fall, especially the second half of September till the first half of November is the best time to visit Switzerland, I strongly recommend. We started our journey early in the morning from Geneva in a car, so that we have enough time for sightseeing, we planned to visit many places. Our host was a lovely Bhutanese family in Bern, where we stopped for a cup of tea on the way and unloaded our stuffs. From Bern, we were joined by the host family. Visit to Five Tsheringma Lhakhangs in Paro, Bhutan

Note :  Had completed the draft of this article in 2018, right after the visit but thanks to my laziness and mild A lzheimer (created my own disease) it was left incomplete. Did a bit of revisit to my incomplete work today and here it is for your reading pleasure and reference for the visit, in a layman’s way of expression.  In Buddhism, the five Tsheringma sisters as the name suggests are the Goddesses of longevity or long life. It is believed that if one worships the Goddess, he/she will be blessed with long life and good fortune. We visited the five temples in December 2018, believed to be the abode of the five Tsheringma sisters, all located in Paro in the four different directions. Legend has it that, if one visits all the five temples in a day, the Tsheringma sisters would grant you with all your wishes and bless you with good fortune.
